How long is a typical session?
Most sessions last 45-50 minutes.
Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept most private insurances in Texas, Arizona, & Alabama including; Optum, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna & Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Can I cancel an appointment?

Yes, appointments can be cancelled with at least 24 hours’ notice prior to appointment time.

Keep in mind that you are scheduling a block of time from which someone else could benefit, and a last-minute cancellation is unhelpful to everyone.

Cancellations within the 24-hr. window will be charged full session fee.

What is the best way to get in touch with you?

The best would be through the website by clicking here or completing the contact form.

How do I complete paperwork and provide information to you if I don’t see you in person?
You will be given access to a secure web portal that will allow you to complete and e-sign all intake documents as well as upload IDs or other requested documentation.
What is a web portal?
The web portal is a secure web page accessible to clients and provides the ability to securely send and receive messages, exchange files, view handouts and therapy-related materials, schedule appointments, and make payments using credit or debit cards.
What is a free initial phone consultation?

The initial phone consultation provides both of us an opportunity to talk and check each other out without expectation to see if we are a good fit to work together.

I normally ask some questions about what you are experiencing and how you are currently coping with your problems. This ensures that I will be able to help with your issues.

You also will be provided an opportunity to have your questions answered to ensure that you feel that I may be able to help you.

What equipment will I need to do online therapy?
You will need to have a computer or tablet that has a camera and microphone connected to the Internet or wireless network with a minimum speed of 10 Mbps.
Can I use my cellphone for online therapy?

Yes, but there are some additional considerations when using a cell phone. Do you have access to a landline during session?

When doing online therapy, an alternate means of communication is required in the event of loss of or poor Internet connection.

A second cell phone will work as long as it is on a different network than the primary. The second issue is that the small screen may not provide the optimal therapeutic experience.

Is online therapy as effective as in person?
Yes, research has found online therapy to be just as effective as in-person traditional therapy.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is normally a get-acquainted session that provides both of us a further opportunity to get to know one another.

I also will be asking some more in-depth questions that will help me assess how I can best help you, so I can offer options for the direction of therapy.

Do I have to tell you everything?

No, I do not attempt to extract information from you that you are not willing or ready to discuss.

Therapy is a very personal endeavor, and I will meet you where you are. But keep in mind, I cannot help with things that I am not aware are problematic.

How long will I be in therapy?
Each client experience is different, but the average length would be between 10-16 sessions.
Who benefits from therapy?

Anyone who finds their current coping abilities overwhelmed and is experiencing any deterioration in normal activities and interactions benefits from therapy.

Therapy can provide clarity, direction, and new coping skills to improve most life situations.

Is our work confidential?
Yes, our sessions and work together are confidential.
Do I have to lie on a couch?
Considering you will be in your own space when we have online sessions, you can certainly lie on a couch if that works for you. But no, that is not a part of therapy.
What is the age range of clients you work with?

I only work with adults over 21.

What are the risks and benefits?

The potential benefits include, but are not limited to, improved outlook, mood and functioning; increased insight and judgment; personal growth; and healing.
